The right choice for your project.

About Ellis construction

Ellis is a full-service construction company — equally capable of tackling any or every aspect of your project, serving as your project planner, being your chief builder, securing and overseeing subcontractors and providing architectural design services. Our highly respected project superintendents and multi-skilled self-performing workforce bring capabilities to the job site that other firms in our region cannot match, and a nimbleness and turn-on-a-dime flexibility that top-heavy companies cannot touch.

Ellis was founded on the principles of honesty, integrity, hard work and quality.  Those values remain at the heart of everything we do today.

Ellis has developed a highly skilled workforce, a solid reputation and strong relationship with material suppliers and subcontractors. We own all of the equipment that is required for our work. Ellis is strong financially with substantial working capital to finance all projects under construction.

Our Mission:

Ellis Construction will utilize our industry’s best practices and deliver highest-quality services to ensure that every project is built right, providing unsurpassed value to our customers.

History

Here’s a brief look at our company’s roots, growth and transition to the Ellis of today.

In 1932, during the height of the Great Depression, four emigrants from Sweden - Nils Anderson, Helge Carlson, Walfred Olson, and Manfred Peterson - began what is known today as Ellis Construction. Working out of a quarry they leased in Ellis, Wisconsin, they quarried stone for churches, schools, homes and other buildings. In the late ‘40s, Olson left the company to start his own business. In 1955, Peterson retired and sold his interest to Anderson and Carlson.

By the early ‘50s, Ellis Stone Construction Co. emerged as a general building contractor, and continued to grow to become one of the most highly regarded general contractors in central and northern Wisconsin.

Today, as Ellis Construction, the firm continues a path of planned growth under the leadership of Jim Anderson and Erik Carlson, 2nd and 3rd generation to the original founders.

Community Service

Our community ties extend to most of central and northern Wisconsin, from our founding in this area to our staff who reside here and our customers who live and work here. Part of being a community member is to give back and support those in your area. Since we first started, our employees and executives have worked to make this one of the best areas to live in. This tradition continues today with our support of many charities, civic organizations, educational programs, business development associations and other groups, not just with financial support, but also with our time, knowledge, skills and experience. If you have an idea about how Ellis can serve your community, please contact us and let’s talk about it.
