Over 57,000 square feet of concrete featuring an in-floor air flow system to provide improved long-term potato storage has led to Ellis Construction receiving an award from the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association (WRMCA). This award was for the concrete work for the Heartland Farms new potato storage facility in Hancock, WI, in the Agriculture category. The project general contractor/designer was Hansen-Rice, Inc., the concrete supplier was County Materials, and the concrete work was done by Ellis.

The facility has over 57,000 sq. ft. of concrete that features an in-floor air flow system to provide improved long-term potato storage.

Heartland Farms is one of the largest vegetable farm operations in the state. Ellis is currently building a new Farm Operations, Technology, & Training Center to support the continued growth of Heartland Farms.

The WRMCA is a statewide trade association consisting of ready-mixed concrete producers and associate members throughout the state and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
